"Tami Kashia Gold is a documentary filmmaker, visual artist and educator. She is also a Professor at Hunter College of the City University of New York in the Department of Film and Media Studies. Biography As a teenager, Gold studied in Mexico and Cuba where she was first introduced to the documentary filmmaking of Santiago Álvarez who had a major influence on her work. In 1970 she began working with the New York-based Newsreel Film Collective (currently Third World Newsreel). While in the Newsreel collective, Gold produced and directed (with Heather Archibald) the docu-drama My Country Occupied in 1971. In 1996 she formed the production company AndersonGold films, Inc. with Kelly Anderson. In 2011 she produced PASSIONATE POLITICS about the life and work of feminist activist Charlotte Bunch. In 2010 she directed (with Larry Shore, Producer/Director) RFK in the Land of Apartheid: A Ripple of Hope, a documentary about Robert F. Kennedy's visit to South Africa in 1966 and the connection between the anti-apartheid struggle and the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. In 2006, Gold produced and directed a video about the popular struggle in Oaxaca, Mexico, Land Rain and Fire (with Gerardo Renique), which aired internationally on Spanish-language TV. She authored a companion article A Rainbow in the Midst of a Hurricane (Radical Teacher 2008). In 2004, Gold produced and directed Every Mother's Son (with Kelly Anderson), which won the Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award and was broadcast on the PBS series P.O.V.. In 2000, Gold produced and directed Making a Killing (with Kelly Anderson), a documentary on the marketing practices of the tobacco industry in the developing world. Making a Killing premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival, was screened for delegates at the World Health Organization and aired on television in Nigeria, Serbia, Lagos and Vietnam. In 1998 Gold produced and directed Another Brother, the story of an African American Vietnam Veteran which aired on PBS; in 1992 she produced 'Juggling Gender: Politics, Sex and Identity about Jennifer Miller, which premiered at the New York Film Festival's video series and was broadcast on public television stations; Out at Work: Lesbians and Gay men on the Job, which screened at the Sundance Film Festival and was shown on HBO and authored a companion article, Making Out at Work; Signed Sealed and Delivered, Labor Struggle in the Post Office, aired on PBS and Looking for Love: Teenage Mothers among others. She is the recipient of a Rockefeller Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship, Video Arts Fellowships from the New Jersey and New York State Councils on the Arts, the Excellence in the Arts Award from the Manhattan Borough President, and the American Film Institute's Independent Filmmakers Production Fellowship. "The ancient Egyptian noble Prehotep II (also known as Rahotep, Parahotep, Prehotep the Younger, Parehotp) was Vizier in the latter part of the reign of Ramesses II, during the 19th Dynasty. Family Parahotep was the son of the High Priest of Ptah Pahemnetjer and his wife Huneroy. Parahotep had an older brother named Didia who also served as a High Priest of Ptah. A seated statue, now in the British Museum (BM712), depicts the vizier (Pa)Rahotep and on the seat his son Mery, Deputy of the House of Life, his wife Huneroy, who is a chief of the harem of Herishef and his mother-in-law Buia named Khat'nesu are mentioned. Prehotep's wife Huneroy was the daughter of the High Priest of Anhur, named Minmose. Life Prehotep's father Pahemnetjer became High Priest of Ptah about year 20 of Ramesses II (ca. 1259 BC). Prehotep may have still been young at that time. It seems that by about year 35 (ca. 1244 BC) – after being in office for 15 years – Pahemnetjer died or at least stepped down as high priest. That position went to Prehotep's elder brother Didia. In year 45 (ca. 1233 BC) Didia is no longer High Priest of Ptah, but the priestly appointment does not go to Prehotep. It is Khaemwaset, the son of Ramesses II who takes on that role in Memphis, Egypt. About 5 years later (ca. 1228 BC) Prehotep is appointed as Northern Vizier. At the same time Neferronpet is Vizier of the South and between the two of them these men head the civil administration of Egypt. In year 55 (ca. 1223 BC), Khaemwaset dies and following in the footsteps of his father and older brother Prehotep becomes High Priest of Ptah in Memphis, Egypt. Prehotep also takes on the position of High Priest of Ra in Heliopolis. That position he seems to have taken over after the death of prince Meryatum, the son of Ramesses II and Nefertari, who had been in office for almost 20 years. Prehotep held the positions of vizier and high priest of Ptah and Ra until the end of the reign of Ramesses II, thereby serving as vizier for at least 17 years and as high priest for at least 12 years. Identity with Prehotep I There is not yet any full agreement in Egyptology whether there were two or just one viziers with the name Prehotep. Indeed, some scholars regard Prehotep I and Prehotep II as one person, others as two. When Flinders Petrie excavated the tomb of Prehotep at Sedment, he found two sarcophagi in the burial chamber and distinguished between Prehotep and Rehotep. However, the second, not well preserved sarcophagus belonged to the wife of the vizier named Huneroy (Hel). Wolfgang Helck saw two viziers with these slightly different names. However, Cerny in a review of Helck's book draw attention to a scribe at Deir -el-Medina with the same name who appears sometimes as Prehotep, sometimes as Rehotep and concluded that there is only one vizier with the name Prehotep and the variation of the name Rehotep.J. Cerny: in Bibliothec Orientalis 19 (1962), p. 142 De Meulenaere saw the main reason for dividing the sources onto two people in the canopic jars of Prehotep. Indeed, there are five canopic jars with his name and titles, while Egyptians in general had only four of them. It was argued that the fifth jar comes from a cenotaph of the vizier. "The Newcastle Commercial District in Newcastle, Wyoming comprises the commercial center of this isolated Wyoming town. The town developed along the Burlington and Missouri Railroad in the late 1880s, with the commercial district taking shape between 1890 and 1952. The district includes twenty- three buildings, primarily commercial buildings, including two properties that are separately listed on the National Register of Historic Places: the Weston County Courthouse and the Newcastle Main Post Office. All of the buildings are considered "contributing properties" to the historic district. The district lies along either side of West Main Street, also known as US Route 16, near its intersection with what is now the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad. US 16, as the Black and Yellow Trail, was a primary route linking the tourist centers of the Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park. The district was influenced by a series of fires that destroyed a number of buildings, which were replaced with newer buildings in styles such as Streamline Moderne, Beaux-Arts, and Mission styles, complementing pre-existing late Victorian architecture.
